Salvage Exchange.
At SALTIE, we see possibility where others see waste. Our Salvage Operations are a cornerstone of our mission — transforming discarded materials into design opportunities while keeping usable resources out of the landfill.
Through our growing network of salvage programs, we’re making reuse easier, more accessible, and more creative. It starts with the SALTIE Truck — a dedicated vehicle that collects castoffs from construction sites, renovation projects, and local donors. From antique windows to hardwood flooring and vintage fixtures, we rescue materials with history and character, giving them a second life in homes, community spaces, and creative projects.
We’ve also built an online marketplace for free reclaimed goods, making it easy for anyone to access salvaged materials and find new homes for what they no longer need. It's all about sharing resources, reducing waste, and embracing a circular economy rooted in community values.
And then there’s the SALTIE Box — a game-changer for on-site salvage. Delivered directly to construction or remodel projects, this drop-off unit makes it easy for contractors and homeowners to separate and donate reusable materials without interrupting their workflow. It's local, it's smart, and it’s designed to make sustainable choices simple.
Our Salvage program isn’t just about waste diversion — it’s about storytelling, stewardship, and inspiring a shift in mindset. Each rescued piece carries a bit of the past, a spark of creativity, and a chance to build a future that honors both design and the environment.
By participating in SALTIE Salvage, you’re not only helping reduce the strain on Nantucket’s limited landfill space — you're joining a movement to reimagine what we throw away and how we build.
